About

The Blog

The House of D blog is an experiment in pretension and heckling, wherein we hope to have a weekly update on the more theoretical side of fashion with occasional attacks of mockery. Note “hope”.

The Editors

Amelia des Anges is a psychology student in Queensland. She is not a goth, but she is a big nerd and rollerderby girl.

Delilah des Anges publishes books, makes jewellery, and writes, none of which remotely pay her rent. She used to be a goth but then she got better.

The Contributors

Jane Tweed is a goth, a nerd, a blogger, and a Christian, who writes about being a nerd, a Christian and occasionally a goth at Lady in Tweed. She has a degree in English Literature and will wield it without apology.

Sandra Ashe is a law student, geek, fashionista and, continuing the theme, great big goth. She lives in Ireland and likes disgusting hipster bands that no one could really possibly like, and also the Manics. She takes a great deal of photos and blogs all too rarely at merrionsquare.wordpress.com

Holly Yagoda is a scientist, fashionista, designer, and poet. Her areas of expertise are everything, with emphasis on knowing more than you do about the sex lives of nematode worms and astrophysics, as well as a lot of very cunning tips about nail polish and knitting. She does not yet have a blog because she is still shouting at the wonky code of a half-formed website.

Melanie Clegg is a historical romance novelist, goth, and mother. She has a scary qualification in art history and runs the very successful Madame Guillotine blog, where she talks about all manner of things including Marie Antoinette, Victorian Prostitutes, and gin.

Liza Gustin is an art historian and museum dogsbody, knitter, and aspirant to the title of “the goth June Cleaver”. She is currently terrorising the city of Chicago in a manner similar to Godzilla on Pro-Plus.

Shira Sandler-Beckett is an artist, bloody goth type, catmother, jewellery-maker, and mixer of artisan lip balms and hand creams. She does not blog, usually because there’s a cat on her hands.
